Carlton County, Minnesota

Carlton County is a county located in northeast Minnesota. The largest city is Cloquet while the seat is Carlton.

It is named for Reuben Carlton, an early settler. The area is located in the Duluth Metropolitan area.

It Borders St. Louis, Pine and Aitkin Counties in Minnesota, as well as Douglas County in Wisconsin.

Main highways include I-35, MN-23, MN-27, MN-210, MN-33 and MN-45.
